689079 2008-07-16 09:17:00 when i go into This where do i go from there maybe i did the wrong thing dunno (1572)
689080 2008-07-16 09:21:00 The link i gave is for a removal tool for the worm you've got. It shouldn't install. It'll scan you system for files relating to this worm

You download the file (its an exe file) then run it then it'll scan your system

If it wont run in normal windows boot into safe mode and run it (save it first)

I did manage to do the symantec scan it came back
Symantec W32,Gaobot Fixtool 1.35.0
c:\Gaobot has not been found on your computer

I did not now where to go when i went to the Malware site which was the first This?? you gave me.

I have come home because my sister computer will not even go online to any website. it comes up in dark blue along the top left hand corner
res: //C:\WINNT\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm everytime i try to go to any website then sometimes it will work but not in the last hour.

Quite frankly i think she might be quite stuffed as after three nights and all your help i have not been able to fix it, but if you have any more suggestions i would be very very grateful :badpc: :help:
dunno (1572)
689082 2008-07-16 11:36:00 Go to start / search and type in hosts

Once it comes up, select it then select open and select notepad (does 2k have notepad, I cant remember)

Once its open delete everything under 127.0.0.1 localhost, then save, then reboot

I would also install SP4, this computer is WAY behind with updates
