428939 2006-02-12 21:54:00 graham...according to that page your allow half a watt under the "general user radio licence". ie you still need to get it licence. btw if i remember rightly the broadcast range is only good for a 1 km or so (a little bit more than a high powered video sender). interference range however can be 3-4 km's easly. There's a few small hobby stations that run using half watt transmitters. One runs in my old stomping ground of Millerton, and on a good day can be received in Westport..
I have no idea how much licence and beaurocracy the station must deal with, but i should imagine its minimal, otherwise the useless hippies would never get it together to keep it running.

428940 2006-02-12 22:29:00 i've only delt with TV transmitters, liencing cost was $100-200 a year. this was some time ago tho. (this was before sky came out on sat). it wasn't much of a hassle, but possible interference issues was the biggest thing. tweak'e (69)
428941 2006-02-12 22:50:00 I have six video tapes here which are are kids ones my daughter likes to watch them and they are all from canada in ntsc format. I have no trouble playing these tapes in our vcr but i want to convert them to dvd i tried this one night last week i had success :help: getting the tape onto my dvd hardrive recorder but it would only play it back in slow motion no matter what mode i had the dvd recorder in.Does any one know how i can copy these to dvd so it will play at normal speed. technophobia (8565)
428942 2006-02-12 22:54:00 err.......go start a new thread. you might then get some video geeks reading it.

only thing i can thing of (as i have never recorded to DVD) is did you record in pal or ntsc? there is a difference in fram rates which can make the speed a bit funny.

428943 2006-02-12 23:46:00 Graham, your linked 2003 document has been revoked by the 2004 one.

www.rsm.govt.nz

Which supports the miniscule levels I was referring to.Which supports my previous comment about the ease of finding things in that site. :D

It's like a lot of computer software documentation. If you know what you are looking for, you can find it. But if you know it, you don't need to find it.
