| 429782 | 2006-02-22 04:45:00 | I don't work for Telecom. But I'm what's called a stakeholder. I use their services therefore I have a stake in their business. Therefore I want them to be successful so that they can continue to supply me with a world-class quality service, at a fair and reasonable price. That's exactly what they're giving me. Well if Telecom NZ are offering world class services, then why do you get more for your dollar from AAPT australia (who is the run by Telecom)? |

| 429785 | 2006-02-22 19:52:00 | Have you just applied for the Most Stupid Question of the Year award? I will once you answer me. If telecom truly are doing their best, why are they providing better elsewhere? |

| 429786 | 2006-02-22 23:37:00 | If telecom truly are doing their best, why are they providing better elsewhere? It's called Markets. If I was in business and market (A) gave me a reasonble profit by me selling product (X) for such and such a price, and market (B) gave me a different profit by selling same product, naturally I would adjust my prices. It's also down to supply and demand. It's also only a little bit less like the ***** n Moan syndrome that is synonymous with Whinging Pommies. Some NZ'ers have caught on to that syndrome, it seems. |

In the catching things vein greg, recently you seem to have caught the US republican "attack the messenger, not the message" mantra. -Qyiet |

But it goes back to my earlier comments that, when a provider gives value for money, as perceived by the consummer, then there's no reason to complain. And... if the value ain't there, well there's often other other extra-added-value aspects to their services. I feel Telecom fit the bill for good value. I'd ask - where would we be without them, remember... spear chucking. |

I feel Telecom fit the bill for good value.I agree that if you feel a provider gives good value for money that there is no reason to complain. However it would appear a large number of people (myself included) feel telecom is not giving value for money. I'd ask - where would we be without them, remember... spear chucking.Interesting question. Definately removing telecom as it stands completely would create a huge hole in NZ's communications. However I really do wonder what would have happened if the local loop had been unbundled from day that DSL had been invented. It may have been better, it may have been worse, but at least we would have had a choice to who provides our internet, and the best player would have won, not the only player. -Qyiet |
