| 688776 | 2008-07-14 08:56:00 | Got this old Lenovo laptop with no Model Number! When the Power button is pressed, no POST but a series of 'short' beeps; I have to press and hold the power button to turn it OFF. Sometimes, the following error messages appears on the screen: Booting GM Edition Default Menu kernel (h00) /boot/gmb/memdisk.gz error 16: File not found press any key to continue When I press any key, nothing happens, but keep on beeping. Any cure? |

| 688779 | 2008-07-14 09:17:00 | It has got a stick of RAM. The keyboard seems to be not responding, so I plug in an external usb kb and managed to get into the BIOS setup without any beeps. Changed to boot from CD and inserted an XP boot disk but half-way through while coping files, it started to beep again and everything halted. Maybe I shouldn't spend any more time with this junk.:badpc: |
