688664 2008-07-14 03:51:00 I just purchased a small ipod/computer speaker off a seller on trade me, made by logitech and second hand. It looks like this www.amazon.com Unfortionaltely when I received it I discovered that the on and off switch doesn't work, it is stuck on On. It is both battery and mains powered, so if I was using batteries, it would drain pretty quickly. The instructions show that the button should work. The trademe seller didn't say that it had this problem in the advert, and it actually looks like someone may have tried to disassemble it in the past, as the rubber on one side of the speaker looks wrinkled, like someone has pealed it back and then restuck it down. Anyone know what to do in this situation. Should I contact them to ask them to provide me with a receipt so I can take it back to the store, although I don't know whether it has been damaged. Or should I ask them for a refund plus the cost of me couriering it back to them. It is very annoying when people sell stuff, without testing whether it works properly. robbyp (2751)

Hopefully through TM you'll be able to get a refund.

Of course theres always a risk with buying off trademe, because you have to put trust in people. I don't know if it is intentional, or they just didn't check it.

I will apply for a refund. Do you know what trademe does if they person refuses to provide a refund. Obvously I would give them a negative comment if they didn't provide a refund, but can trademe ban them for providing false information?
