688672 2008-07-14 03:32:00 Since the takeover of Ihug by Vodafone, I have had trouble with my Eudora emails. Not much assistance available from Vodaphone apart from advising me to ditch Zone Alarm which didn't help. Also told me to try another programme.
Would appreciate any suggestions or choice of good Email programme.

688673 2008-07-14 04:08:00 Eudora should work fine with any ISP it uses standard mail protocols.

What exactly are the problems you are having and any error messages.

688674 2008-07-14 05:29:00 Thanks Safari. Vodafone blamed Microsoft update KB 1748 and said to remove it. But to no avail.
Error message (1) "Server's SSL certificate rejected."
(2) "Email scanner connecting to static-content-vips2-58 Ihug." This appeared as a list of about 20 entries.
Only 1 email came up in inbox. Could get other more recent ones by clicking next message for each one, because 'check mail' won't work.
Since playing around with it today, I have lost about 2 years of inmails! The outmail box entries are all OK.

688676 2008-07-14 06:31:00 I use "Free Agent" for my mail, similar to Eudora etc.

Changed to Vodafone recently from Xtra & had problems at first.

user name & password would not work. Had to put full address xxxx@vodafone.co.nz for it to work.
If you are getting your mail through a Domain, 'SMTP.vodafone.co.nz' for outgoing & 'pop3.your-domain ISP.co.nz' for incoming.

If receiving mail from Vodafone it is pop.vodafone.co.nz, not pop3.

You can use the Vodafone Web Mail with your Browser.

Your mail may still be on the server. Have a look at Vodafone Web Mail.

688678 2008-07-14 07:12:00 If you have an ihug email address you use the ihug mail settings.
You should not need to use SSL so check all your settings as follows.

Go to Tools/Options
Select Getting Started from the left
Username: the first part of your email address, the bit before the @ sign
Mail Server: pop3.ihug.co.nz
SMTP Server: smtp.ihug.co.nz
Return Address: your full email address.

Go to Checking mail on the left.
Mail Protocol: select POP

Scroll down and select SSL from the left
All SSL boxes there select None to show in the box.

Click ok at the bottom.

688679 2008-07-14 08:22:00 No problem here using Eudora 7.0.10 and Ihug/Vodaphone apsattv (7406)
688680 2008-07-14 21:52:00 I have had those errors Tick mentioned as well, but I can still get my email ok using Eudora.
I don't often fire up my email client since I use webmail to check/filter what's in my mailbox.
