430271 2006-02-14 11:25:00 We've been hearing somethging similar for years though, have we not. There have been 180deg about faces before have there not.

Don't underestimate the cunning and sway, in the business and invester circles, of Telecom.

430272 2006-02-14 11:36:00 The whole thing should be a non issue .

Hopefully the government will actually do something this time and do something to put the matter to rest once and for all but whatever happens it wont happen overnight .

I do accept that Telecom will not just lie down and take it - it will be a battle but I do think the eventual outcome will be worth the wait (if it happens at all) .

It was interesting to hear that it's only us and Mexico that hasn't unbundled - bit of a joke to infer there could be some negative consequences

430273 2006-02-14 12:47:00 the labour government wont do anything about it, it never has in the past, and i doubt it ever will. however, i think if national was to get in, they have a very switched on it spokesman, maurice williamson, who has advocated for unbundling for years and the regulation of telecoms pricing. I totally agree with you though - shame we didn't get enough votes huh . . .
