689895 2008-07-17 23:26:00 I am trying to reinstall windows xp on my machine I have reformated my computer and I have put the windows installation disk in my computer and I have been receiving these errors over and over during the installation.

Installtion of XP got as far as "installing windows" with 33 mins to go and I got the following error messages (in order)
"windows could not load installer for Net. contact your harware vendor for assistance"
"windows could not load installer for NetClient contact etc"
"windows could not load installer for NetService contact etc"
"windows could not load installer for NetTrans contact etc"
"windows could not load installer for Infrared contact etc"

After that installation proceeds to and through Regional & Language Options, Personalize Your Software, Your Product Key and Computer Name and Admin Password.

Upon getting to Installing Network at the 32 min to go mark, the system restarts and goes to "setup is being restarted" at the 39 min to go mark. Then it does the same loop as above.

Please let me know what could cause this and let me know how I can go about fixing this. Thanks

689896 2008-07-17 23:31:00 Looks like those errors can appear If you've got A mobo with an Nforce chipset (www.cybertechhelp.com)

You have to disable some option in the BIOS to fix it

How do I enter the bios to disable some options? Do I need to create a boot disk?

689898 2008-07-17 23:40:00 No depends what the system is .

It could be F1 / Del / F2 (you press one of these after you reboot)

You dont need any disk

Dont ask me what to look for . I dont have an Nforce chipset

689899 2008-07-18 05:27:00 My Nforce chipsets had always been "delete" to get into bios.. I would disabled the GUI of your startup screen as well so its easier to get into BIOS as well. Press TAB if the startup GUI is on. *it would be like a picture screen showing what board you have* Under one of the tabs, look for some of the ON-BOARD devices IE* Onboard Sound, LAN and possibly VIDEO (if you aren't using it) and disable them. Just untill windows is fully installed then you might try re-enabling them and install the drivers. Blackflag486 (13947)

The chipset has nothing to do with what key you use to get into BIOS setup. the BIOS itself (how it was programmed/customised) does
