689481 2008-07-16 08:22:00 We turn our dsl 504t off everynight as all the office power here at home gets shut down at night, takes less than 5 mins to boot backup everyday gary67 (56)
689482 2008-07-16 08:45:00 I think it draws about 10 watts which is nothing.
This thread (pressf1.co.nz) may help with your other question, check the last post ;)

689483 2008-07-16 08:54:00 I would assume if you are turning off the modem to save power you will be turning off the PC as well.
If you start the modem before the PC you may get online quicker.
If that dosent help you will need to look at your setup.

A noisy phone line.

It certainly is more than likely this is at least part of your problem, ask Vodafone to rectify it.

an hour is FAR too long it should take a minute or so

as for saving power the amount of power it uses, specially when the pc is turned off and its not communicating would be EXTREMELY minimal

its not really to save power the computer is in a bedroom and they dont like the flashing lights at night but i just cover it now but why is it taking so long to start up anyway? my friend has the same modem and his one starts up almost instantly.

what do i tell vodafone about the noisy phone line?

689489 2008-07-16 23:41:00 is it taking a long time to 'startup' or is it taking a long time to get a steady adsl signal on it ?........(look at the lights on it to tell)

if it's the adsl then maybe that phone line is'nt good enough
