689168 2008-07-15 10:39:00 I have installed all my new gear without problems apart from I can't get any higher than 800x600 4 bit display settings. Loaded all default settings with mobo and graphics.
Have tried changing settings in control panel but no go.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I doubt this is your problem!

689172 2008-07-16 01:16:00 Have you installed your motherboard drivers (there will be a cd in the mobo box), and then your graphics card driver (ditto)? feersumendjinn (64)

Really!

ASUS tech support advised updating the BIOS to fix this problem - which it did.

The latest BIOS version for the ASUS M3N78-EH is 0406.
If this is not the version in the nodrog PC then download and flash version 0406 to prove me wrong.

It's pretty unlikely, as a rule, but it is possible there is a bug with these models, and updating the BIOS fixes it.
