| 432769 | 2006-02-21 03:26:00 | My bro is working fulltime and since hes new to it he doesnt know how the paid holidays work...mines different as instead of having paid holidays thru the year i just get longer holidays over xmas so I'm not someone he can ask, i know he can ask at work but yeah he asked me to find out for him and here i am lol. he has 2 days of paid holidays owing and he wants to take them over the easter break, we all know Friday and Monday is a holiday (good friday and easter monday) so if he takes his holidays as thursday and tuesday off, giving him a holiday of thurs,fri, and the weekend then monday and tuesday... We know with the paid holidays he'd get paid for thurs and tuesday, but would he get paid still for friday and monday as they are public holidays? I would assume yes, but just a bit confusing coz its right before/after a public holiday. If it was just friday and monday off after a normal weekend then no confusion there. Can someone clarify this for me :) Cheers |

Where a public holiday falls within a period that an employee is taking as annual holidays, then that day must be treated as a public holiday and not as part of the employee's annual holidays . thanks heaps for referring me to that site :) |
