| 432472 | 2006-02-21 01:15:00 | The Southland Astronomical Society ( homepage.mac.com ) is considering buying a powerpoint projector, plus a laptop. We have a borrowed one but that isn't a longterm option. The projector and laptop will be used for talks at meetings and public lectures etc. Anyone have any suggestions of what to buy? We don't have much money and hope to apply for a grant for a laptop and projector. |

| 432473 | 2006-02-21 04:09:00 | I won't suggest a make or model, but one major point to consider is the life of the bulb, and the replacement cost. There is a significant cost per hour of running, even assuming that nothing happens to shorten the life of a buldb Some of those bulbs cost hundreds of dollars.
