| 431959 | 2006-02-19 03:18:00 | Ok this is another beetle profane post............ warning gets waffly and may cause irrationality...:p It has come to my attention that those who help and are the salt of the earth people, honest, helpful and kind, are often those who fail at times in their life due to having to sacrifice dreams......... While those who have it all and use it to any extent, and have strings attached as there is no such thing as a free ride, get the glory and life they always wanted. Why in any relationship (business, or personal) can people not be honest open and upfront? why do you not get all the details........... lawyers (sorry W001) seems to be classic....and realestate.......they out for the $$ as well. Seems also in some friendships things cannot be said, and have to be hidden from the world forever................. and this i beleive is not friendship? where those of us online can put at times our heart and soul into a post, thread and get the odd reply............ but if we were to say this on the street people would be embarrased and look away? If something happens in say a relationship (business or personal) and it goes sour, people react in an impersonal manner? in real life. but in the case of Mets making a decision to shut up shop, we see that as a form of great empowerment for making the right choice at this time? Do we not do something for our fellow man with out thinking that what will these people do for me, when i want payback? :illogical I have been going thro some really tough personal issues here and have found out that really people would rather not know what is going on, or have the gossip plastered all over the place regaurdless of the truth or not, just to get back or hold onto those strings attached....for payback at a later date like......................why do people do this? Why and i have noticed this to be a predominatly male problem would they put up, or lie about something in there life for a long period of time? Why can we not just be friends and help others with no Strings attached? and payback is not expected? What drives people to be like this? to be better than Joe Bloggs? or the smiths? there is no such thing as live and let live? or just be average joe? :illogical sorry rant over...... comments please. beetle |

Ohm mani padmi hummmmmm I personally like someone with a bit of mystery, rather than interogating every last secret out of them (unless they're an axe murderer or wear lingeree (I mean the men there)) People find it hard to do good deeds for the sake of it and let's face it- most are bought up nowdays to expect payback. hands up how many PF1ers do 'charitable work' ? (and I don't mean being nice to the mother in law!) Me, I'd stop and help an old lady cross the road... as beetle knows I have an affinity for old folks :D |

| 431968 | 2006-02-20 01:14:00 | Lot of questions there Beet. Hope you are feeling better today. Henry David Thoreau said "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation" So those people you see who have it all or are uninterested only appear that way. They suffer doubt and worry just like the rest of us. Its just that some people hide it better. Its also easier to cope if they don't take on other peoples problems. They can pretend it doesn't matter. And most people are selfish. We actually need to be to a certain extent - if you don't look after yourself then noone else will. But at the same time humans are co-operative and generous because we need to be in order to have a community. Life isn't easy for most people but it can be hard when you see another decent person come unstuck. I think the outpouring of support for Metla spoke well of this PF1 community and of people's innate kindness. |
