432050 2006-02-21 09:35:00 You only have to study the ferr-atII standards, including Y.11239 FYU composite plus Z3:hha to know what's what.

Also Think about EMY.J+II uniformity code, and take in a bit of T8MMH VyBorL:A reasonings, and then you'll be fully conversant.

(But I'll pass it on to my tricyclicic-composoconvertorial interpreter just in case)

432052 2006-02-24 10:43:00 I got me a spanner, and have just learnt to rebuild the insides of the copper flushy thing above my friends loo

432053 2006-02-24 19:45:00 I have tinkered, I have recently made my own speaker stands and screen stand for the new machine, BUT that doesn't count as PC stuff because it was woodwork :p

I might post some pics later maybe :D

My tools, I have drill, dremel, screwdriver set, socket and ratchet set, set of pliers, hammer, and most likely other stuff but I can remember

Not bad for 17 :D though I have not done any BIG stuff :(

432054 2006-02-24 20:03:00 I could be terribly boring and say that i built many of the speaker boxes in a 5,600watt concert sound system with 2,400watts of monitors, and i built up most of the cabling, Lighting gear, power-distro, racks etc..

I also own a skillsaw and jigsaw..

Tee hee
Yesterday i was told i'm very handy to have around... Isn't that sweet?
:D

432055 2006-02-25 00:51:00 Of course owning a Skilsaw doesn't automatically give the [i]skill[/b] to use it. It will cut something too short even quicker than a hand saw. I suppose the noise gives a sense of power... Graham L (2)
432056 2006-02-25 01:20:00 For fifteen years I lived w/out mains power and used hand saws for all my building. Now I've got mains power and man I love my skillsaw. mark c (247)
432057 2006-02-25 01:51:00 With the "success" of the big mega stores like Mitre 10 and Bunnings I would presume DIY was alive and well in NZ.

I had to get the neighbour to help me build a fence as I didn't know where to start but I can wire a plug. My dad was into DIY as he had to be as we didn't have alot of money left after paying for food, the mortgage, 3 kids clothes etc (oh the good ole days).

And to be honest, i generally do use hand tools when accuracy is an issue..

But powertools are more fun!!!!!!!:D
