2006-02-17 01:31:00 | Sorry to hear that Metla, being self employed is great when it works, but it's a bastard when it doesn't. It has taken my business 11 years to become an overnight success and still there's the possibility hanging over me that next year could be the last. Good luck with the new job, whatever it might be. Cheers Billy 8-{) :(

2006-02-17 01:33:00 | So are you shutting shop, or shutting the whole business down and all personal computer work as well? I suppose what i'm wondering is if Metla will be doing a bit of computer work on the side, or putting together machines for others by order? It strikes me that in this very electronic age, that a bricks and mortar shop is not nessessarily needed to run a small business, particually if the bis is spread too thin anyway, you have orders, and a customer base that doesn't care where you are working from.

Actually from my experience this does happen. The gap occurs between doing a great job and actually being paid for it. Many people are excellent at their work but don't send out bills or do the paperwork. I hasten to add that this doesn't apply to Met. |

2006-02-17 04:21:00 | Sorry to hear that Mets. On my occasional visits to Wanganui I have always intended to call and say hello but never quite made it. Now I wish I had. | Dally (6292) | |
2006-02-17 04:54:00 | Best wishes Metla for your next venture (trust me, there will be one because being a wage slave is living hell / torture after being self-employed). A lot of successful people have had business ventures that didn't work out so you're in good company. If there's anything I can do send me a PM. Cheers Andrew
