432718 2006-02-21 22:04:00 Xtra's 1G capped here, always back to dialup speed for at least the last week of the month. :(
Don't listen to internet radio or download too much music / video .....
The caps are far too low for the cost.

Me too. Always blow my cap in the last week although this week i was back to 64k by the second week. I think it was all the free skype calls to oz :p

432719 2006-02-21 22:22:00 went 22GB over the 10GB cap a while back and didn't get charged any extra
next time i went 7GB over and got pinged, can't remember what the extra on the bill was but do remember it was a lot
regularly go over the 10GB cap, varies month to month

432720 2006-02-22 00:05:00 Well natch that's where you're using up your bandwidth. I doubt you'd have done much of that on 56k? you caught me :p
I WAS only on 10 hrs a month dialup.... so yeah you are right, but who is to say others are not like me? Hit broadband and DL everything :D (its fun)

432721 2006-02-22 07:23:00 Me on 1Mbps up/down with 15GB cap.
Averaging about 50GB per month lately though.

432722 2006-02-22 09:07:00 Caps aren't really a problem. If you go over there is a chance you may have you're speed reduced to 64k, but thats been rare for me. And I frequently go over my cap of 10gig, easily into 20gigs. imarubberducky (7230)
432723 2006-02-22 11:53:00 We use (family of five) about 7gb a month. This include a heck of a lot of gaming courtesy of my brothers and heck of a lot of music/radio courtesy of me. I mean we have 2 computers pretty much running constantly with music and/or games (BF2 I believe) processing. I'm struggle to reach anything over 10gb ever, I might make an attempt one day... 432724 2006-02-22 12:08:00 When I was with Xtra we went over the 10G few times, the bill came the following month.

Since changing to Ihug 20G + 20G with their no charge for upload, I have only just managed to go over 10G halfway through the month, been downloading heaps more too.

432725 2006-02-22 17:09:00 yeh I just cnt imagine WHAT people DO to go over the 10gb cap......I'm a tech I download a lot of program files and stuff like that but otherwise dont play games, rarely watch videos, and dont bother listening to radio on the puter......so although I've gotta 10gb cap I've NEVER even come close to it......most I ever did was just over 3gb

202.21.128.20

The billing month ends today for me and this is about my average usage......I'll be pleased when the plans change to be paying $10 per month less but still get the high speed and go for the 5gb plan that'll do me ...........

seems to me that many of these folks who regularly exceed their plans, (most particularly the 10-gb), should either get off the pc and outside a bit more or stop moaning cause their P2P prog is chewin up their allocation. Or stop downloading movies. Just cause the stuffs out there you dont HAVE to have it ?......i've seen folks boast about having 20,000 mp3's well they surely didn't get them from ripping thier cd/record/tape collection.......

432726 2006-02-23 06:44:00 Yip.....
While luxuriating in the country i made the mistake of doing a full system update....

Slow internet there for about a week after that.
All my fault :p

432727 2006-02-23 06:53:00 On Xtras 3 gig plan here, usually make it last till about 2 days to go then I go for a heap of torrents :D. Last month we got to the 2.9 gig mark with 2 days to go so did a 2gig torrent :). Don't get charged extra for it, though speed is usually cut. But I figure what the heck, I came from dialup so even 60Kbps is a bonus lol. However I did notice the 2 gig torrent never got download speed cut. Myth (110)
