People seeking to have more affordable broadband services in New Zealand are taking their campaign to the streets today.

A group led by Slingshot founder, Annette Presley, will mount a protest action outside Telecom's offices in Wellington at midday.

They will then take their protest to Parliament.

Annette Presley says Telecom is ripping New Zealanders off with its current broadband service and she will be giving away 35,000 loaves of bread to make that point.

She says Telecom is only giving consumers the crumbs, but if the protest is successful all New Zealanders will get a whole lot more

434878 2006-03-01 21:24:00 I guess it's a thin line between a protest and a marketing exercise ... Biggles (121)
434879 2006-03-01 21:25:00 If Slingshot was big enough to worry Telecom, Annette Presley would be too busy for this sort of stunt. Is she worried about the consumer's crumbs or her share of the cake? PaulD (232)

434881 2006-03-02 03:15:00 well, perhaps if telecom gave them a level playing field, maybe it would be a fair game. Tux (606)

Without a doubt Cici, there was a whole lot more speech associated with that phrase.
