How about the religion question - you could always say you believe the Flying Spaghetti Monster (http://www.venganza.org) created the universe ;-) Personally I think the Census is very important. It gathers the same information from everybody across NZ. Some data isn't available elsewhere. It helps us with family trees, population data, predicting traffic even! Taking 15 minutes to fill out a form that is brought and taken away from your doorstep is not really that bigger deal. And if it helps create a clearer picture of New Zealand, then even better. |

What is the difference between a New Zea lander with European ancestry and a New Zealander with Dutch ancestry Then you should add New Zealand Samoan New Zealand Chinese etc. What is the need for a blanket "European" statement. How the heck can you put France and England in the same basket lol?, they don't even speak the same language. If you where born here and your parents were born here then you are definitely a New Zealander. Anyone else born here certainly have the choice to call them self New Zealanders also (depending on cultural upbringing). The reality is 90%+ of people thatput themselves down as Maori have like 1/16th blood which is ridiculous to call yourself a Maori, when you have far more dominant cultures in your blood (so to speak). But that's the hypocrisy we live in. |

If you are Less than 50% of one and more than 50% of another, you can only call yourself what the larger part is. Simple. |

Why have we so many Maoris then with only about 1% Maori blood? |

| 433516 | 2006-02-27 19:37:00 | Why have we so many Maoris then with only about 1% Maori blood?Because in order to be politically correct, you can make a choice no matter what the percentage you are, even 1%. | KiwiTT_NZ (233) | ||
