690240 2008-07-19 07:16:00 ok, but I really can't see anywhere to plug a monitor in on the mobo I/O joemac (9739)
690241 2008-07-19 07:20:00 ok, but I really can't see anywhere to plug a monitor in on the mobo I/O That's why if we know the model of the board we can look it up and see exactly what we are dealing with ;)

The 3 beeps you mentioned mean something, but could be various depending on the BIOS in the Board.

690242 2008-07-19 08:08:00 ok, there is not a lot on the board but here goes.

(on a heat sink) MSI 8x AGP

On the board (ms -6585 ver1.0)

690244 2008-07-19 08:23:00 I tried resetting the BIOS but I am not sure I got the the right jumpers. I tried removing the ram stick and blowing on it. Still no difference.

Screen --> "no sync"

690245 2008-07-19 08:31:00 Well have you figured out where to plug the monitor in on it?

There's no point talking about what to remove, until you plug the monitor in

Whatever you removed, did you put it back in the same place?

I would ask your mate for the manual. So, you know what youre looking at / and doing

690246 2008-07-19 08:35:00 I never had a problem plugging the screen in. I was just pointing out that I was unable to rule out the Video card as the problem because the board had no onboard graphics to bypass the card. I am sure that I have put everything back where I found it. joemac (9739)
690247 2008-07-19 08:38:00 One thing you can also try, remove the graphic Card, start the PC, it should start beeping indicating no Graphic card.

But before you do , are you still getting 3 beeps as mentioned before If so what are they , 3 short , 1 long then 2 short ?

690248 2008-07-19 08:41:00 I got the three beeps when the card wasn't in properly.

Am only getting the initial beep now.

And very fast fans.

690249 2008-07-19 08:44:00 With the computer off, remove the RAM, restart does it go nuts with beeps - how many sticks of RAM do you have installed ? wainuitech (129)
