690230 2008-07-19 06:28:00 yeah, what I am saying is that it has to have the card because there is nowhere that I can see on the mobo to plug a screen in. I can't test the card because it is the only connection I have available.

What can a computer boot without? HDD? RAM? DVD?

690231 2008-07-19 06:34:00 It wont boot without a hdd, or ram Speedy Gonzales (78)
690232 2008-07-19 06:36:00 ok, what what can I leave out to see a bios message? joemac (9739)
690233 2008-07-19 06:54:00 Well, until you can see something on the screen, removing whatever wont help at all

Try removing the CMOS jumper on the mobo (with the power off) for a minute then put it back.

See if that fixes it

690234 2008-07-19 06:56:00 ok, I will try that. joemac (9739)
690235 2008-07-19 06:59:00 There must be a connection for video on it somewhere, if it had a screen connected to it before

If its onboard it'll be up the top at the back of the case

690236 2008-07-19 07:04:00 The screen connects to the video card. That is the only connection I can see. joemac (9739)
690237 2008-07-19 07:09:00 Have a look on the Motherboard, someplace there, usually in Bigger writing is the model and make of the Board, what is it Please.

Eg: For a Gigabyte board it may be GA-965P

The minimum you need to get a BIOS on the screen is Motherboard, RAM and CPU and if it has not got onboard graphic's a Video Card. It wont boot, BUT you will get something on the screen, it will compalin like crazy with no drives, but thats expected.

690238 2008-07-19 07:10:00 I'll have to get back to you on that joemac (9739)
690239 2008-07-19 07:14:00 I'll have to get back to you on that Only checking to make sure it DOESN'T have onboard graphics

One thing you can also try, remove the graphic Card, start the PC, it should start beeping indicating no Graphic card.
