2006-02-27 10:32:00 | Yes I do, but I've got a really old Nokia one that's not capable of pxt. Just text every few days and call extremely rarely. I'm not addicted to it like some people are. | truffle_pig (8798) | |
2006-02-27 12:54:00 | Do I have a mobile phone? Physically, yes. It was made by Mr Ericsson before he met Mrs Sony. Does it work? Not since I forgot to make the annual $20 prepay upkeep about 3 years ago. Does that make me a Not Any More? Well, I might get it going someday... Sorry, Stu. Your poll doesn't have a category for me. (And no, it doesn't take photos or even text. But it has heaps & heaps of ringtone choices. Bruce would love it)

2006-02-27 19:10:00 | Bloody phones. You know what I want from a cellphone? 1] make and recieve calls. 2] let me play my own MP3 ringtones so I can annoy my co-workers.Heh.. you had the *exact* requirements a friend of mine had.. He picked up a motorola razor (the non 3G one) for about $400. I was quite impressed. It has a lot of the annoyances of my Motorla V80 (which also plays mp3s) fixed. Personally I am waiting (forever) for the nokia N91 to be released. *sigh* -Qyiet

2006-02-27 19:15:00 | Call very occasionally, pxt never (can't anyway), txt about 1-2 times a day. My phone cost about $100, no idea what it is. | mejobloggs (264) | |
2006-02-27 19:32:00 | Yes. Just want a basic service. No pictures, no camera, not interested in organisers, browsers, news alerts or games etc. Usage is 90% incoming calls, and outgoing is 10%. 90% of outgoing is texts and 10% is calls. Costs me less than $20/month. Sometimes I can go 6-7 weeks without topping it up (prepay). Turned off at the weekends. Nothing is that urgent. A

2006-02-27 19:50:00 | Did have a plain old phone - no bells whistles or sirens. Moved to an area with dubious reception so took the opportunity to take my revenge by stomping it with my best hob nailed boots. Now I can spend more on beer at the pub. | dvm (6543) | |
2006-02-27 20:25:00 | Cell phones are great as long as you don't use them too much. I can still contact all my friends that can't afford a landline let alone Internet, I can contact people when they are away from their computer, and they can contact me when I am away from my computer. A $20 top up usually lasts me 3 months.

2006-02-27 20:41:00 | I have an ALCATEL POS phone. It has enough bells and whistles to make the menu seriously frustrating. The camera is seriously nasty, and i gave up on it long before i got semi permanent loan of a friends 2.0 MP digi-cam. What i want and get from my fone is voice calls facility, txt call facility, sufficiant address book to hold physical addresses, email, and other notes, (why carry a note book AND a fone?) The alarm facility is good too. I like pre-empitive txt, but the games are stupid, the webbrowser is pointless owing to screen size, and there's menus of cheap bling that suggest to me that somewhere in fone development land someone had far too much time on their hands.
