Given sufficient time it won't be a question of whether or not 'NZ' is recognised as an ethnicity but which NZ ethnicity you subscribe to given we are have a very rich and mixed heritage. Reading about the various Oriental ethnic groups, maybe we will end up with the following ethnic categories within NZ : Wanganuite Whanganuite Swede-eater West Coaster Speights drinker Buller rugby supporter descendants of the pioneers on board the ship 'London' which arrived in 1840 Northland and Coromandel growers of plants used for recreational purposes owners of pre-1965 cars (or motorbikes) contributors to online forums people who wear hats when driving people with more than the average number of toes and the rest. |
