What's the easiest way to capture still frames and save them as jpeg's from avi movie files?

R.M.: At the moment just using WMP, and Various Linux Based Viewers. Have a variety of programmes availible just been asked to do this be family member and don't really have the time to try heaps of apps.

Speedy: Yea thought of screen shots but that results in quality lose.

Wratterus: Might try VLC soon.

The picture will only be as good as the original. If the original is crap, the pic will be too

Realize that just want to get as best as possible.

It's never gonna by crystal clear, but from experience, you seem to get better results with VLC than print screen.
