434982 2006-03-02 04:54:00 Hi

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant put out a podcast a few weeks ago and you can download various epsiodes free (e.g. from The Guardian (www.guardian.co.uk)). I have episodes 1-3 and 7-12 - does anyone know where you can freely download the missing episodes? (numbers 4, 5 & 6?)

Thanks, Andrew

434988 2006-03-02 20:09:00 Extras is better than the office. It hasn't been released here yet but if you can get your hands on the DVD its worth it. In the DVD set is a 2nd DVD of the out-takes and some footage with 'Nigel' - absolutely side splittingly funny. I'm slowly making my way through the podcasts and whilst they can be a little slow, they have some very funny moments. Although I suspect it depends on whether you find Ricky Gervais funny or not.

Please tell me Nigel is a witty urbane, handsome chap, not a drippy dithering english bookish type as they always seem to be on TV

434990 2006-03-03 05:06:00 Ah yes - apologies there Nigel. I didn't realise we had an actively named member with the same name. I'd like to say Nigel is tall, dark and handsome who is not only witty, but also the life of the party. Unfortunately it couldn't be further from the truth. You know how Dave Dobbyn looks like a white potato? Well Nigel from Extras is like that, but worse. And he has no chin. Not quite dithering but certainly submissive - especially with the gimp mask and when playing the sheep in the grip of the python. He is what you might call 'Rickys play-thing'. (I'll bet that right now you are wishing you never asked). But have no fear - I'm aure you and Ricky's play-thing are poles apart (literally and figuratively). Anyway, get the DVD if you can and watch the out-takes titled 'filming Nigel' - they are just as funny as the main event.....
:D
