436072 2006-03-08 07:10:00 I think a lot of you are transposing your gripes about work, life, business, privacy, employment, rates, the cost of food and where you can't swin because of sewerage overflows mistakenly onto the census. I really beleive it is designed to help.

Think again!!

Not only should you better 'fess up fast to Mrs godfather (as I assume you married a smart woman who'll find you out about the 15 children, let alone Bhuddism) but for heavens sake, tick the survey box for Online.

Let's face it - Its percentages are looking pretty sad for a computer forum.
I consider myself a newb still. And here are all these people with far more experience than me (giving advice about godknowswhatall) who've done the paper census.
I thought this would be a show-the-flag for technology. Looks like I was wrong.

Mikebartnz:
No. Census enumerators don't "put in whatever they thought appropriate".
That fits with " I met someone once" and "they said" as journalism Rule 1 - Don't Quote Vague stuff without giving Names - in Case they Don't Know What They're Talking About.

Laura, I would have done my census online - I would have jumped at the chance... except I was not given the option when given my forms, and didn't know that I could until only a couple of days beforehand. I was quite disappointed at that :)

You’re now the 2nd or 3rd person I have read about in this thread or another one I started on another forum who did not get the option to do it online.

Or maybe she just forgot or ran out of the online packs... who knows? :)

436078 2006-03-08 23:16:00 I think the census people were prob. told to ask people if they wanted a pin no so they could do it online rather than hand one out anyway, though it could have been printed on either the household or persons forms. mark c (247)

The one I met did and I'm obviously not going to name names. You can believe me or not, it doesn't worry me.
