I am pretty sure it is Lake Matheson, of mirror lake fame, near Fox Glacier township. My son project managed the building of the track and bridges around the lake, and he and his wife were married near the peak indicator just up the road. Aoraki-Mt Cook and Tasman loom over the skyline. Lots of amateur photographers go to the lake in the early morning because if there is no wind on the lake there is a perfect mirror image of the wee fellas on the skyline.

This pic seems to have been taken from a reasonable height above the track.
