I thought he was just the NZ representive of Fairfax...considering theres alotta fairfax companys in nz...so they have a nz representive, that basically acts like NZ's CEO for Fairfax... if i'm wrong...and he is in fact the ceo then bloody good job :D he surely has brains if he went after trademe.... |

| 435747 | 2006-03-06 20:00:00 | oh well good on him...700million, nice, 32% of that..is still 224million, surely set up for life on that anyway...just live off the interest... :D I heard on Breakfast this morning that if he just puts the money in the bank, he'll still earn something like $42000 a day in interest :D although I don't know if that was on the $230m or on the $700m Mike. |

I'm picking Fairfax is looking to make it direct competition with E-bay (long term) Short term, make it easier for aussies to use TradeMe, and increase the client base substantially which will then of course increase profits. Just speculation though... |
