691176 2008-07-22 09:08:00 I use a laptop with an express card to go on line with. When I download Vodafones meter says downloading at between 250kb/sec and 1.3mb/sec but my Firefox meter says only 8kb/sec to 140kb/sec. Where did the difference go? Is it a wrong setting in windows firewall and what should I have these set at I don't know what most of the things here are.netlogon, network discovery, network tunnel whatsit. Roger Hunt (13648)
691177 2008-07-22 09:22:00 Dont think windows firewall will slow it down.

It may depend on what site and where the files are

With some ISP's downloading files from overseas can be slow sometimes

691179 2008-07-23 03:46:00 I could be it just says kb/sec but its slow. Roger Hunt (13648)

With some ISP's downloading files from overseas can be slow sometimes most of my downloads are from USA and are video.

691181 2008-07-23 03:54:00 Thats probably why then.

Sometimes downloading from the US can be slower than a snail

691182 2008-07-23 05:38:00 Roger Hunt, the quality of your download source is most likely the reason. Without knowing what source we are all talking about makes it impossible to give a informed response.

As above its not going to be Windows firewall slowing you down, and if you are unconvinced, turn it off for a few minutes to confirm (although your wasting your time).

691183 2008-07-23 09:35:00 I download flv files but Vodafones meter says up to 1.3MB/sec but my firefox meter only says up to 140kb/sec. where did the difference go? what should my firewall settings be? Roger Hunt (13648)
691184 2008-07-23 09:54:00 Well meters can be wrong

If youre using XP's firewall, there's not a lot to configure
