| 690703 | 2008-07-21 00:59:00 | Hi there Im after backup software/sync software like MS synctoy that will compare selected dirs to the backup HD & delete files from the backup drive that Ive deleted off the C: Cant find anything that quite fits the bill, tried cobian, syncback,MS Synctoy etc Some dont allow me to easily select dirs that I want backed up, some wont delete orphaned files off the backup drive that are no longer on the C: Any ideas of other programs to try?? |

| 690706 | 2008-07-21 05:31:00 | Cobian wont do it.(Great otherwise) From the Cobian FAQ "Q: I want your program to create a mirror for me. When I delete the original file, I want the program to delete the backup copy. A: This is a terrible function to have in a backup program. Please do NOT ask me to add this function. Imagine what would happen if a virus deleted your files and when you go to Cobian Backup to restore the files you find out that Cobian Backup deleted the same files because it is mirroring the information! NEVER ask me to add this." I'll try Rsync. |
