2006-03-08 03:03:00 | You have got to be joking. !!! :groan: :help: :annoyed: UK kindergartens bleat about nursery rhyme (www.nzherald.co.nz) because "the original words alienate and offend young black children." Hope MAPP stops it here.

2006-03-08 03:19:00 | Don't worry. In a few days the gay advocates will find the term "rainbow" offensive. And we'll probably learn that sheep are holy to some African tribe. So the song will just end up being "Baa Baa Baa Baa" and no-one will want to sing it. | imarubberducky (7230) | |
2006-03-08 03:29:00 | It is my understanding that black sheep are a genetic throwback and therefore a discriminated upon minority... therefore deserving of the protection and equal opportunities provided to the white sheep. We wouldn't want kiddies in kindergarten to think that black sheep are inferior now, would we?

2006-03-08 04:28:00 | The black sheep had "three bags full" of wool. Its productivity was far too high. It's the lazy white ones which wanted the black one converted to mutton. | Graham L (2) | |

2006-03-08 12:46:00 | I used to own some black sheep. My farmer feller hated them. Not because of their colour, but because every single scrap of their wool had to be cleaned from the shearing shed in case it contaminated the majority white wool & lowered its price in the bale. But spinners & weavers loved them. The fleeces were far more interesting than white - hence individually worth more. Sadly homespun went out of fashion & my sheep died of old age. So bring back the fashion & black sheep could rule the world of haute couture. Then those kindergarten kids - who've probably never seen a sheep - needn't have their nursery rhymes stuffed up by the PC Police.

2006-03-08 19:56:00 | Hmm, first there was Noddy, then there was Christopher Robin, now its Baa baa black sheep??? Do they have nothing better to do over there than whinge about anything that takes there fancy?? What next... Bob the builder because its sexist?? or maybe Postman Pat because his relationship with his cat is just nooooot quite right?? Funny thing, if you ask the whingers, there is nothing wrong with them and they are perfectly normal.. right. But I wonder what their Moms read them when they were kids.... most likely; the same stuff they are trying to ban Political Correctness... gotta love it NOT
