| 437548 | 2006-03-11 16:49:00 | It's kinda quiet here this day/week/month/year so far . . . and I am not one to let things stagnate if I can help it . . . so here's a "poke the lion with a stick" fun thing for youse guys again . . . . . . . nyuck, nyuck . . . . . Talking of long-running topics, lets have another on the subject of Mac OS vulns, as recently discussed ad-nauseum on this site . . . nothing like mucking the roil up a little . . . wot? This is not ME saying this . . . although there is a certain amount of echo here that I kinda recognize as rebounds of my own thoughts . . . let's live and let live . . . ok? (C/P from The Register . . . a e-paper from your own locale): I would just like to point out that Mac & other Linux based systems are just as vulnerable as a Windows machine . What they are all vulnerable to is ME ATTACKING THEM WITH A CHAINSAW AFTER LISTENING TO THEIR UNBELIEVABLY BORING OWNERS WITTER ON ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL THEIR OS IS FOR HOURS AND HOURS! Get a sodding life people! It's a bloody operating system, it's a tool, it's not your bloody girlfriend . Ok, . . . . . . . for some of you it is your bloody girlfriend or at least a close substitute . Bozo The PixieKiller . . . . . . . gotta love his succinct appeal . . no? |

Outcome never changes, and it just leads to more bad feeling between certain groups of users and then the mods get to clean up the mess. Think of the forum as a dinner party amongst friends, there are just some topics best not debated. Just let it rest. |

I happily will comply...but I just loved this guy's prosaic attitude...as a writer, he has a certain "style" that I don't get to hear here in the US....I suspect a UK tongue or possible an Australian one...and that's to what I was referring...just that.....sorry if I or it offended..that was not my purpose..... |

HTH m ...surely didn't want to incite a problem...it's just that US'rs are in love with that dry English-type humor...you know...Monty Python, Sir Basil Fawlty, the guy who played the life"saver" in Australia...(some obscure fellow who made the Crocodile series...what's his name?) We wonder how youse guys talk to EACH OTHER.....we are just suckers for anything that resembles British humor and accents. ....then we kinda bunch youse all up in one basket...we can't really tell any of youse apart without a scorecard....lol |

Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee. "That's not a knife." :-) |

Those movies were Australia at it's worst, or close to it - Steve Erwin (or whatever his last name is) really gets on my nerves whenever I hear his voice. |

| 437556 | 2006-03-12 00:09:00 | Unfortunately comparing Australia with New Zealand (both countries and people of those countries) is like comparing USA with Canada... Apples and Oranges... Dont go there... |

Dont go there... Except possibly the average American does not realise how much fun-poking about them by the Canadians goes on behind their backs, whereas it's mutual between Kiwis and Aussies. :) Oh, I forgot to put this bit in: "Cally-Forn-Ya Imagine the wrestler Giant Haystacks being put in charge of Disneyland and pronouncing the name of the place Duz-Ner-Lund. Money grabbing right wing fools on the West Coast of America have chosen as their leader a barely literate sexual molester with his brains in his biceps. Similar to the Idiot-in-Chief but with muscles. Ill be back, you managed to say. Well we sincerely hope you wont." www.twochapstalking.com |
