437347 2006-03-09 10:35:00 According to a promo earlier tonight, the "Sunday" programme on TV1 at 7.30pm on March 12 will look at current broadband issues.

(Please keep the Telecom flaming until after it has screened - or use one of the other current threads on this topic. I'm just being the messenger)

437348 2006-03-09 10:40:00 I love telecom.

I want to be smoothered in all telecomy goodness. Sacrafice me. I want the xtraordinaries.

Seriously though, as with most politics, I've grown largely apathetic of the issue. I might watch it as it would be interesting to see if it has a relatively balanced presentation.

437353 2006-03-11 02:38:00 Wasn't this the same crowd that munted the report on spyware/online fruad?

I don't think they know anything.

437354 2006-03-11 04:26:00 No they probably don't know too much.

But the main thing is that along with the TV3 one a few weeks ago and the one late last year on the high price of mobile phone call plans versus Australia is that it will bring home to the avarge kiwi and our average MP's that Telecom is not only ripping us off but is also holding us back with high priced slow broadband.

I know for a fact that many businesses and private people do not like calling mobile phones becuase it is so dear to call one ! It is 79 cents (incl GST !). This is the same price it was 20 years ago when mobiles first came out !

I am in contact with people overseas and calls to mobiles from landlines are very cheap - around the same price or less, than a toll call.
