436870 2006-03-09 03:11:00 I have been using trade me recently and for everything I have been sending it through NZ Postal service. It has been good but now I would like to send a larger package (A VCR). Is there a service that will help me with buying the things to package it in and that will be the cheapest to send it.

I have looked at New Zealand Couriers. Are they good. How do they work I checked on their site and it said I needed an account? Could someone explain everything to me if possible.

436871 2006-03-09 03:50:00 Try the likes of DHL and their competitors. Greg (193)
436872 2006-03-09 04:04:00 Ok ill test them out. kiwimate27 (9833)
436873 2006-03-09 04:35:00 Good old New Zealand Post is as good as any, you will get all the info you need from a Post Shop. Terry Porritt (14)
436874 2006-03-09 05:04:00 NZPost may be as good as any other, but having to pay $52.13 to send a parcel down to Balclutha (Courier, T&T and sig reqd.) is a little steep.
I'm glad its a one off thing.

436875 2006-03-09 08:32:00 Courier Post is about $12 incl gst to send a parcel the size and weight of a packed VCR (up to 5kg) from Auckland to Wellington.

I wouldn't touch DHL or any of the more commercial operators, too costly and too slow.

Cheers

Sorry im a little confused. Is that courier post part of the NZ postal store or is it a seperate enitity?

436877 2006-03-09 10:13:00 Yes, New Zealand Post owns Courier Post - not to be confused with New Zealand Couriers, which is a different company.

You'll find it's website via Google, plus other competing firms, if you enter *courier post.*

P.S. I once used Fastways Couriers to bring a heavy computer & monitor from Rotorua to Dunedin. That cost $40, but they might be worth a quote for lighter packages?

436879 2006-03-10 00:53:00 And of course, Courier Post (www.courierpost.co.nz) are a partnership of NZ Post and DHL. :D Graham L (2)
