| 691743 | 2008-07-25 03:17:00 | I spent a day working at Ihug on the help lines when the brothers owned it and there was about 6 of us on the phones. Some of the moronic questions were unbelievable, they are what tie up the help staff most of the time in my opinion. Needless to say the job was not for me. Not quite to this level but not far from it - "do I have to take the modem out the box for it to work?" or "I plugged it in and it does not connect" |

| 691744 | 2008-07-25 04:31:00 | I got VF broadband, experience so far limited to about a month, but it's great. Can't really comment on CS yet since I haven't had an opportunity to use it (and hopefully never will!) but have heard it is pretty bad. Not sure if it's going through or not, but also heard they may start to charge extra for CS. Yes, I had heard they will begin charging for customer support. They have recently started charing $1 per call for their mobile phone users to call their overseas callcentre for help. Slingshot used to charge, so it is nothing new for ISPs to charge for support. You should beware of vodafone plans that lock you into a contract, as they may hike their prices during the term. There are better ISPs out their than vodafone. I would recommend a NZ owned company, as at this time of economic downterm, we could do with supporting NZ businesses, rather than paying a UK owned company, that sends the money offshore. |

| 691745 | 2008-07-25 05:05:00 | Changed from Xtra to Vodafone. Get 20gigs Broadband for the price of 5gigs from Xtra. Flat rate of $40.00 per month for all NZ phone calls, any time. Rate of 25cts per minute for overseas calls. Phone line has been noisy for years, now it is quiet. Broadband is probably faster than Xtra, but definitely not slower. Has only been off once for a couple of hours. Have a standby dial-up using same user name & password as the Broadband. Had a little bother with the Email. Trick is to use your whole Email address as your user name and the server is 'pop' not 'pop3' Very pleased with it so far.;) |
