2006-03-12 06:58:00 | I would have thought the woman who heads telecom would have been a far better liar... Anyhow, we don't need ADSL2 for VOIP, they just need to halve the price and increase the upload speed. A Hex on them all.

2006-03-12 07:09:00 | honestly by looking at this espisode, nz got no hope with that stupid [edit] at telecom who is just so concern with money instead of the nz economy..!! and what can helen clark do? all she care about is saying telecom is unacceptable delivered the technology, but there is no action that show it is on the improved. even the Minister of communication, still saying they are still looking for ways to improve it!!! how disappointed!! hurry up u bunch of dicks!!! stop wasting the nzer's time... if u not willing to improve the country, get out of your job and get somebody to do the job that want to help and build the country forward... | 437362 | 2006-03-12 07:30:00 | Wouldn't this be more effective if you sent it to parliament, rather than here? Not at all - they would read the first line & throw it out. You have to be a bit more polite than that if you want the politicians to listen to you

2006-03-12 08:04:00 | I find the language and attitude of Jacky's post to be offensive . Another ankle-deep report from TVNZ, most disappointing . My business partner and many of our clients cannot get broadband at all, let alone 24mb/sec . But Ihug and Slingshot admitted their interest is in cities - not the provinces or rural areas . So really their complaint has nothing to do with the NZ economy and everything to do with making money . No problem with that, but they need to be honest about it . Interestingly not one commentator came up with a use for fast broadband which was business orientated . VOIP, streaming video, and games were the repeated uses . Again that is fine but lets call it what it is - entertainment consumption . Not production .

2006-03-12 08:21:00 | Good to see the iHug boss make an appearance - sounds like he would roll out ADSL2+ tomorrow given the chance! 24Mb for $30 a month sounds good to me!! Quite a good watch - more info than the Campbell live show delivered but ultimately nothing new - as stated - more bs from telecom, more "we're working on it" from the govt etc . I'd say a good majority of the viewers of TVONE would be of an age where they don't really care about the internet, don't know what it is, don't understand the techno babble or are just happy with 56k so the content may have been largely wasted . BTW Ihug have a site up re: LLU - see their website for a link

You hit the nail on the head Winston, in fact virtually all the gripes and groans on this forum are from those who want to play games better/faster, or downlod more illegal music faster, or download entertainment videos. It leaves me unimpressed. Edit: I am quite happy with the speed available to download streaming 78rpm records at 24kbps mono audio :) |
