691524 2008-07-23 22:30:00 After installing Windows XP Home and a few other programs on my new computer (about 5hrs work ) I relised I have not partition my 500gb hard drive. So I have one big 500gb or there abouts partition. I want to partition it, so I'm up to suggestions on what to do. Probibly the easiest thing to do is to start all over again.
:)

691525 2008-07-23 22:37:00 Definitely not!

Download the Gparted ISO (sourceforge.net), burn it to a cd using ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com) and boot off it. Partition away!

Gparted did the trick. No problems. Took the risk and didn't do a backup. All it meant if it went wrong was a reinstall.

691532 2008-08-01 20:58:00 If you have access to a copy of Partition Magic 8 or Paragon Partition Manager 9 you can partition or repartition at any time with no loss of data. I use them often - quick, easy & safe. fnphoto (2434)
