437100 2006-03-10 03:00:00 hey everyone,

our Samsung DVD\VCR player will not read any dvd's at all.

we have not used the dvd part of the unit for a few months, and i went to use it this morning, it was playing a dvd fine for about 20 mins and just locked up completly, we triaed again and we keep getting "this disc can not be read, please check the disk"

I have tried:

numerous amounts of other dvd's and cd's - will not read any of them
(disks had no scratches and were clean)
i ran a cleaning disk through it - would not read that either :annoyed:
and all of the dvds do run perfectly fine on my mates PS2

any help to get this fixed will be greatly appreciated

437101 2006-03-10 03:44:00 Well, it sounds like you have tried all the options so it has probably died on you I think. Unless you are prepared to take it for repair, you will have to buy a replacement, in fact it would probably be cheaper to do that than to get it repaired.

Even a quote for repair is going to cost you, unless you can find a benevolent repairman who doesn't need to pay a mortgage or rent and isn't interested in feeding himself or his family.

It happens with electronics. :(
