| 692791 | 2008-07-27 07:35:00 | Just doing a routine virus scan and avast has picked up pagefile.sys as a trojan. I have googled this and it seems that it can pick up a trojan in the other OS of a dualboot - which I have got set up here. Problem is, I don't remember if it was C:\pagefile.sys (Vista) or D:\pagefile.sys (XP). I'll post back when the scan completes and see whether it was C:\pagefile or D:\pagefile. Is this a false positive?? I certainly hope so!! |

Avast does pick a few false positives. You can check reasonable sided files (<10MB) at virusscan.jotti.org against the latest virus definitions of 20 AV programs. |
