| 692722 | 2008-07-27 05:45:00 | I am having trouble getting sound. When I try to run the SoundMAX ADI1988 audio driver it comes up "The HDA Audio bus driver is required and not found". I have googled this and there is a lot of info on this problem and I have tried suggested fixes but to no avail. Perhaps someone else may have encountered this problem.? Running Windows XP SP3. |

But I see it's in the drivers for the video card (dont ask me why, its a videocard not a soundcard)! thats in this. And in the drivers for the system I'm making up Its called kb888111xpsp2 Its for SP2, but should install on SP3 And after you extract this file, you do this (forums.microsoft.com) |

| 692725 | 2008-07-27 06:38:00 | Actually, I've got the 888111 file for Windows 2000, XP SP1, SP2, and Windows Server 2003.I downloaded that file but you cant install it if you have SP3. I then downloaded KB835221.exe which is supposed to contain UUA HDA audio bus driver for win XP SP3 I saw in another forum. I ran that then tried to load the SoundMAX driver from the setup disk but again got the message about the HDA audio bus driver being required. | Pato (2463) | ||
