| 691975 | 2008-07-25 02:07:00 | Brief run over saving the long story moan and groan, left Telecom as when on the Go Large plan I downloaded alot, 300gb a month was the most i noted, they slowed me down to 64kbps for three months unfairly and no clause stated they could do this, myself and telecom argued and i eventually went to another ISP as they wouldnt understand me. With the new ISP for 6 months approx now, they're offering adsl2+, i work for another isp and have done for 6 years, thats within various ISPs except telecom here and in Aussie and Asia. Problem is that Telecom say im on one exchange at 2.7km's away as on adsl1 port via Telecom wholesale to my ISP, my current ISP say another exchange but can't give me the cable length from exchange saying only telecom have that info as its not there equipment, which i understand the latter. Though changing to the new plan the newer ISp offers for adsl2 and im still on adsl1 speeds, however whether im on an adsl 1 or 2 port, my speed has changed very slightly but still under 8000kbps, im at a point wondering wtf, dont know who to believe!!!! anyone got any ideas? |

| 691976 | 2008-07-25 03:47:00 | You can usually tell which exchange it is by your phone number. | pctek (84) | ||
| 691977 | 2008-07-25 04:01:00 | What type of modulation is your modem reporting? It should be somewhere on the same page you are getting the line sync speed. Assume you are getting the speed from the modem and not some speed test site. | PaulD (232) | ||
| 691978 | 2008-07-26 02:55:00 | below are my stats on PPPoA LLC (VCMUX no diff) only copper in my area as its auckland. router shows, normally the sync down rate will go as high as 5900-6100 SNR Margin: 12/12 dB Line Attenuation: 40/25 dB Data Rate: 5504/672 kbps using g.dmt aka g.992.1 ADSL1 as that gives me the best stability and speed as i dont sync above 8meg. have tried three firmwares for my dlink router, 504t, g604t, g624t. i normally dont go off speed test sites either, but speedtest.net reports around 4800kbps from WxC server. ISPosure is of course - theres error threads on geekzone even about that one. my phone number is for the exchange telecom give me. I think Ihug are wrong, but again read my first post on it and you'll see what i mean. |
