ASUS M51VR notebook. * Processor: Intel Centrino Core2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, FSB 1066 MHz, L2 Cache 3 MB, 45 nm * Memory: 2GB RAM (2 x 1GB) * Hard Drive: 250GB Serial ATA 5400rpm * Optical Drive: DVD-RW DL * Display: 15.4" TFT (WXGA, Colour Shine) * Video: ATi Mobility Radeon HD3470 VRAM 256MB with HDMI * Modem: Fax ⁄ modem - 56 Kbps * Wireless: abgn * Bluetooth and Firewire: Yes * eSATA * Card Reader * 1.3 MP Webcam * Altec Lansing sound * 4 USB 2.0 * Separate numeric pad * Battery: Li-Ion 6 cells * Operating Software: Windows Vista Home Premium * Warranty: 2-year limited global hardware warranty, 1-year battery pack warranty Came with a nice Asus bag and a mouse. I also got a Belkin notebook travel surge protector chucked in for free. It cost another $200 (cost $1800) but I think the higher specs and being able to stick with a Asus was worth it. :) :wub :wub ... just need to get a new ADSL2+ Wireless N router now. |

Not sure what distro yet, but it won't be Fedora as Fedora 9 is still leading up to its purpose and being a bleeding edge release and is rather flaky. :rolleyes: I could always put Fedora 8 on it ... | Jen (38) | ||

I should add I am keen to keep Vista at this stage as I am unfamiliar with it and with some many newbies here posting problems with Vista it would be good to have a better knowledge of it. :) hmm .. this post was supposed to be an edit, not a quoted reply ... sigh. |
