439478 2006-03-21 01:08:00 Get modafinil. 80 hour days seem like a Good Thing to me. I'm trying to get some in NZ but I think its prescription... DangerousDave (697)
439479 2006-03-21 01:41:00 I found that going to bed at a really abnormal time helps. Kind of sneak up on the sleep before your brain realises that you are trying to go to sleep and then you start TRYING to go to sleep, and thats the end of sleep.

Apparantly we (humans only) have 2 times when our optimum 'go to sleep' time is. 7-8, and if you miss that, 10-11.

I find that not using the pc for 2 hours before hand helps.

Over-tiredness is bad. You end up sleeping worse.

439480 2006-03-21 06:00:00 Wow lots of replys, where to start?

somebody - I don't usually drink anything with caffene in the evening.
I am not too sure how long it has gone on for, I took no notice until it started getting worse.

pctek - I ended up watching Mythbusters on discovery for an hour last night.

Greg - Thats not good.

Tazz - Nothing out of the ordinary has happened.
I try to think of nothing, but before I know it I am thinking again. :(

Shortcircuit - I have tried that as well, was doing that for about a half hour last night to no success. :(

Rob99 - LOL, I could try that, but not on a school night.

bob_doe_nz - Oh, that must have been very frightening.

netchicken - Where can someone like me get this? What is the cost?

DangerousDave - 80 hour days? are you serious?

mejobloggs - Only thing is after finishing my HW and stuff and as pctek said vege out it ends up around the 9 - 9.30 mark anyway, no room for abnormality.

439481 2006-03-21 06:43:00 Sometimes if you get into bad sleep patterns they become difficult to break. If this has been happening for a while now, it does sound like a pattern your body is now following. A natural insomnia herbal remedy may be enough to break this habit. Go into your local Health shop or Chemist and ask for advice. You may only need to take the remedy for a short time until you have trained your body back into a more natural sleep pattern.

If there is another reason for the lack of sleep, such as continued worrying over something or stress, then you should deal with the root of the problem rather than just how it is being expressed.

439482 2006-03-21 06:45:00 Have you got any siblings? (Brothers or sisters).

A crack on the head with a length of 4x2 should do the trick.

439483 2006-03-21 06:57:00 Jen - I don't see how I would have gotten into a bad pattern, but I guess it is possible. There is nothing stressing or worrying me that I am aware of.

Graham L - Nope just me :D
Yeah... but I would like to avoid the painfull remedys if possible :p

I think drinking fizzy during the day could have something to do with that as well so I am not going to drink fizzy, only one at dinner time.

439484 2006-03-21 07:14:00 Avoid using any drugs (legal or not). Sleeping pills usually have the effect that you still don't sleep well, and you are dopey all the next day.

I think it's not recommended to read in bed ... that keeps the brain turned on. I always have, but I don't bother about it any more. If I wake up, I will often read until I sleep again. My argument is that my body is resting ...

It does tend to be self-regulating. If you don't get enough sleep, you get tired, and wil sleep sooner or later. Perhaps you just don't need much sleep.

The drugs have that effect, but the herbal stuff doesn't

439486 2006-03-21 07:32:00 No drugs are used here :D

Oh ok, I will keep that in mind.

You know I have just been starting to think the same thing, after only getting to sleep at 2am, I thought I was going to be so tired it wasn't funny at school and fall asleep, but no I was wide awake and even got a hold of logarithms, which I was having trouble with, so it might just be that I don't need as much sleep as before

439487 2006-03-21 07:38:00 It isn't a "problem", anyway. It will only become one if you are determined to make it one. You're not a pharmaceutical company, so you have no financial incentive to do that. Graham L (2)
