438154 2006-03-14 21:12:00 And for those who have had computers for a while did you ever think you would fill a blank cd when they came out and then a dvd and soon to be hddvd/blueray. who needs a hdd bigger then 10 gigs.
what is adequite today will not be tomorrow.
There has to be a reason people moved off dial up, and that was speed and we want more not necessary need more

438155 2006-03-14 21:15:00 Hi Greven, According to Microsoft, the Vista release date will either be 31st October or 30th November, but then who really knows. That's what I have been reading on the Internet anyway. No pricing as yet, but you can bet it will be the same or more than XP.

Cheers

438156 2006-03-14 22:01:00 How many people actualy need faster Broadband?

All I want is better upload speed(at a good price) as I am happy with 2m down. (Am unsure about the 3.5m & I think there a more chance that I will go over 10 gb quicker, but we will see)

438157 2006-03-15 03:35:00 Faster broadband allows for a lot of new markets. Video-on-demand is one such market, as well as VOIP (Telecom will love that). Unfortuntly our broadband speeds and caps are preventing these.

One thing that never comes up in these debates is not whether we want faster speeds or larger caps but whether we want cheaper broadband - $60 a month is a rip off for what we are getting.

438158 2006-03-15 03:45:00 How many people actualy need faster Broadband? I'm inclined to think most of those demanding it don't realy need it. They just want it because it's there.
Personally, I'm quite happy with 2 gigs speed and a 10 gig limit.

Because the majority of the world get a lot more for a lot less and we are being ripped off. Also I like to game and I like to watch movies over the internet. Just those two things eat up the bandwidth and not to mention I have a rew things running off one connection.

438159 2006-03-15 16:36:00 Ever heard of "user pays".
Why should anyone get,or expect, say 60 mbs, for the same price as someone else who only uses 1 or 2 mbs?

We are many thousands of miles away from the "majority of the world". That does make a difference. If you want to change your personal situation kw27, this (www.airnewzealand.co.nz) might help.
