438144 2006-03-14 17:33:00 How many people actualy need faster Broadband? I'm inclined to think most of those demanding it don't realy need it. They just want it because it's there.
Personally, I'm quite happy with 2 gigs speed and a 10 gig limit.

438145 2006-03-14 19:22:00 It's called progress and can not be denied and not a case of,I'm all right jack. Cicero (40)
438146 2006-03-14 19:37:00 yeh buncha whingers maybe they could improve the upload speed this could be handy but 2mb or 3.5mb as telecom will soon make it is fine hell it dont take long to download stuff really and i'm not into downloading illegal movies so that dont worry me at all. Cant comprehend these folks who say 'oh i downloaded 60gb last month' *** are they gonna do with all that data ? drcspy (146)
438147 2006-03-14 19:40:00 hm......is our 'self protection' from 'nasties' getting a bit much ?.....I thought this was/is an adult site and in the 'real world' theres a fair bit of 'naughty' language used on a daily basis in all walks of life - however i just noticed that my W-T-F has been replaced by three stars........geez what next ? drcspy (146)
438148 2006-03-14 20:15:00 As far as I can see, 3.5mb is ok, not good, but getting better. The only gripe I have is the data caps. With Vista not far off and being as bloated as it will be, it will take up 7 gigs of drive space, so you can imagine how large any critical patches will be, given they virtually rewrote the XP operating system for XP with their so called service pack 2. So in conclusion any person who's on a small data cap will blow it with perhaps one critical patch from Microsoft.

Just a thought :2cents:

438149 2006-03-14 20:24:00 maybe but to be honest by the time most average users get vista they should have upped the data caps...after all from what I understand teh hardware requirements for vista will stop many current systems from even lookin at it.....and not many people will want to pay the $$ for vista AND a hardware upgrade... drcspy (146)
438150 2006-03-14 20:49:00 You could be right with that supposition about many people not wanting to upgade and buy Vista as well drcspy, but with support being stopped for XP on the 31st of December this year, and knowing that you will only have 5 years protection with critical updates, most will be forced into buying Vista because they WILL have to upgrade. It's Microsofts way of making you upgrade whether you want to or not.

438151 2006-03-14 20:55:00 considering the amount of pc's running xp worldwide I'd be very suprised if MS cut support for that o/s this year.............very very suprised indeed drcspy (146)
438152 2006-03-14 21:05:00 Well, it's my mistake for having read it on Microsofts site, and apparently they made a mistake on their website as to the final support date for XP (sorry). It will be supported now untill 2 years after Vista ships. Not really my fault, Microsofts to blame lol.

Cheers

438153 2006-03-14 21:07:00 Will Vista be out this year?

How long has the gap been in the past between introducing a new OS & cutting support for the old one?
