| 692929 | 2008-07-28 00:07:00 | Hi guys i been having non stop problems since upgrading from xp to vista 32. Everytime click onto Control Panel i get the vista error of the year "Windows explorer has stopped working" then "windows explorer is restarting" My PC run excellent bar this problem i have looked online and have tried evrything from restore to deleting registrys etc but still have the same problem. I have uninstalled pretty much all my programs that were put on there during that time fram and still have the problems... The only thing i know which i think has caused this was Antivirus2009 window popping up while installing a program...the pop ups went wild and norton picked up the trojans etc and so did windows defender but after deleting evrything i still have the same issues...i researched how to remove antivirus2009 but there is nothing anywhere in the registrys or any exe files etc to show this... I have no idea what to do? |

Look in add/remove programs, to see if its there. Use this (http://www.malwarebytes.org) Watch what you install next time ! And check Google / Yahoo, to see what it is and does. Before you install it If you reinstalled everything, did this include Vista?? If you reinstalled Vista as well, HOW did you reinstall it? Install over it, or did you do a clean install? |

| 692933 | 2008-07-28 00:31:00 | Get trojan remover in my sig, install it update it then click on scan. Then select all options under utilities. See if that lets you back into control panel. Have you installed a virus scanner? You should do a clean install, it'll probably fix it |

| 692938 | 2008-07-28 11:28:00 | i cant access the control panel i have been using glary's to uninstall programs I would say that you have been infected with some nasty malware I came across just last week, in a comp I have now had to completely re-install XP on. The malware had been downloaded by the owner from a poisoned website (his virus/spyware software had long expired), and had turned off the control panel, the registry editor, the display properties, access to C: drive (could only see two folders on that drive), turned off any antivirus or spyware progs if you tried to install/run them, added a undeleteable phantom Admin user account, and other stuff. I managed to get it cleaned up enough to get his data off it (first thing you do is turn off System Restore (the malware hides in there)), but could not restore it to a running condition (the malware included Antivirusxp2008 (probably similar/same as your Antivirus2009), and other fake virus/spyware programs with fake reports of malware and extortion threats), Vundo, Zlob, Infostealer, various trojans etc, plus a nasty joke prog called joke.blusod which caused continuous (fake) bsods). So I would recommend that you dont muck about, save/back up your data (check it for malware before reinstalling), format your harddrive and do a FULL reinstall of your OS, then install some reputable internet security, and dont visit bad places ;). |
