693636 2008-07-31 00:27:00 Umm, if its back at the shop or whatever now, I would get them to update the BIOS, if its not 1106.

As it looks like 1106 fixes video corruption. And this can make a system freeze (with that mobo).

This may have been one of the issues, you were seeing.

693637 2008-07-31 00:30:00 Its not back there yet, no point till the new parts arrive.
Can you tell me how to check bios version, hopefully it can be done in windows as I cannot restart right now

In dxdiag bios is listed as Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Does that help?

693638 2008-07-31 00:34:00 In XP try start / all programs / accessories / system tools / system information.

It may show under BIOS Version / date.

It does on this.

I dont know where it is in Vista, I dont use it

I wouldnt update the BIOS in Windows tho (if your BIOS isnt 1106)

693639 2008-07-31 00:41:00 BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD ASUS P5N-T DELUXE ACPI BIOS Revision 1001, 12/03/2008

So it does not look like it has 1106
DeSade (984)
693640 2008-07-31 00:44:00 Correct, thats the original BIOS, but not 1106 Speedy Gonzales (78)
693641 2008-07-31 01:20:00 OK
So it needs a bios update first and foremost from the looks of things.

How do I flash the bios?
DeSade (984)
693642 2008-07-31 01:32:00 XP SHOULD be installed BEFORE Vista.

doubt that's any kind of issue you can install em anwywhichway you like with a small amount of fiddling round........

693643 2008-07-31 01:51:00 OK so I need to leave that for the tech.
I am creating a email to send to him with as much information as I can get.

Anything else to add to what we have here so far?

(seems to crash a lot when I am typing, just had one, and several last night)
