440545 2007-11-15 18:47:00 Had very bad experiences with Inkworks and I would definitely not use them again.

I had bought a refilled black cartridge off them and some time later took it back because it was streaking. After a few visits when they tested on their machine and said there was no probs. In the end they said bring in your printer and the manager can look at it. The manager said that although the colour cartridge was one third full it was causing the problem and I should replace it (with one of theirs). I did this.

Some time later when the black cartridge was still a third full it stopped giving out ink altogether. I cleaned it as per the H & P instructions but still no go. Went back to Inkworks and they tested weighed, and said that the ink was dry at the bottom and the ink on the top could therefore not get through to the bottom -- because I had not used the printer enough - even though I use it a few times a week every week (apart from eleven days away on holiday). They said they could try soaking it if I left it with them for 1/2 hour. When I got back the young lady said it had not worked because there was no ink left in the cartridge (they could not even get their stories straight !) :groan:

One of the bizarre things is that they say that the black cartridge had dried up because of lack of use - however the colour cartridge works fine even though it would get one twentieth of the use of the black.

The colour cartridge shows currently as one fifth full only despite very little use at all. The Inkworks people say that the amount showing onscreen is often incorrect. That may, or may not be the case, however it is no consolation because how do I know when to think of replacing.

The above summary is a shortened version. I found that each person I spoke with at Inkworks gave me a different and often conflicting story. They were consistent however in one thing --- it was not their problem, it was not their fault !!
