How about Windows Forever? It could come bundled with Duke Nukem Forever as a promotional stunt :D

On my computer WinXP SP2 plus various security updates works for me.
Why worry about when Vista is going to launched?
I would prefer to wait until it is ready.

Other people here use Linux and this will not worry them either will it?

Some people use Windows with other browsers and email clients as they can do.

Why do we have these continued arguments about Intel vs AMD, Mac vs PC compatible, Outlook vs any other Email client, Windows vs Linux and also mention this graphic card manufacturer vs that and etc etc.

No different to the continued Holden vs Ford battle. Telecom vs Vodaphone. Should I mention Catholics and Protestants? Possibly National vs Labour or Greens or any other political party.

For those that get down to the local computer shop and buy the Vista Operating system when it arrives I wish them luck. I hope also that their favourite applications still run.

439912 2006-03-22 10:34:00 For me, Its a big fat "who cares", The job of an OS is to be stable and to provide a platform to run your programs of choice on.

The day an OS is released that requires more system requirments then DOOM 3 on high detail is the day that the entire shebang turns to ****.

I get about excited over a new release of Windows, The 3000 nifty tricks of OSX, and the 4400000 different shades of linex about as much as I get excitied over a new dish cloth.

Woohoo...More revenue for MS, Life is indeed grand.

439913 2006-03-22 10:50:00 I suspect that for the average user Windows 98 would be just fine - and I'm not talking about the average PF1 user. The other day I gave a PC to a friend who had her laptop stolen. She was absolutely thrilled to get a PC that could get her on to the internet and read her e-mails. It saved her a bit of dosh and I finally managed to offload an older PC and monitor so we both won. The OS? Windows 98.....no thrills and no spills. Just a good stable OS that meets her needs. Vista? That gets the lower case woohoo. ;) andrew93 (249)
