1429352 2016-12-01 22:27:00 I have VDSL Broadband coming through an InnBoxV50u modem/router. Up until recently this unit has been excellent, and runs cool. In the past couple of weeks another wireless signal has appeared in the neighborhood which is on the same frequency (as confirmed by an app on a smart phone). The modem is in the basement. Download speed in the basement is 29 Mbps, upstairs 2 Mbps! The interfering signal switches off from time to time, and the speed rises to 16+ Mbps.

The InnBox does not have an adjustable frequency, so what can I do about it?
At the moment I have an old Cisco wireless router upstairs connected to the InnBox via the mains. Works Ok but gets very hot.

Does anyone know of a Wireless Router with an adjustable frequency that runs cool?

1429353 2016-12-01 22:33:00 Can't change the channel??? I would biff that out and get something better in that case. Being able to change the channel is a fundamental capability of a wireless AP.

Are you after an all in one device? Or would you consider a separate modem and access point? Do you have any wired devices or are you fully wireless?

The InnBox works well except for the recent signal interference. I also have a Dray Tek Vigor130 modem which I was told was a good one, but I have never used it. At present using the Cisco wireless router, but it gets very hot, and I expect it to fail at any time. What I require is a 4 port router, with adjustable wireless channels. It must run cool.

1429355 2016-12-02 02:02:00 The DV130 is an excellent modem. Seeing as you already have that, I'd recommend using that as your modem, and as you require LAN ports, get something like a TP-Link Archer C7 as your access point. You can run the Draytek in bridge mode so you're not double natting.

If it was me I would get a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR and a gigabit switch, that will perform fantastically, but it may be a little complicated/messy for the average person. :)

1429356 2016-12-09 02:43:00 I don't like the Innbox routers much, the V50-U is pretty much just a clone of the NF4V.

Use the DV130 for *sure* and get yourself an Archer C7 running Gargoyle. 100% best setup :D
