1429068 2016-11-22 01:34:00 Hi. Is anyone having 'Error Code 0x8024402c' - the hoax - arrive on their systems? I've searched on PC Forums, and as much as I can online, especially all the information on MS website and talked with Microsoft Help Desk. Because of a few details on the screen (dire warnings, unusual phone numbers; no response from our mouse over the warning page; ) we-the Microsoft help desk and us, have figured that this is a hoax. So far we have just turned the computer off, holding in the on/off button-couldn't access the task manager or use mouse. Have yet to reboot computer so not sure what to expect, but will run Defender and Malwarebytes etc. Any other information or advice? Thanks. katharinem (3459)
1429069 2016-11-22 01:42:00 Boot into safe mode and get / run adwcleaner (toolslib.net)

Click on scan wait for it to finish. if it picks anything up click on clean, reboot. Then run it again the file menu / uninstall

Lowest this year was -8.6C. 25.9 right now. Went down to one of the lakes today. Just beautiful. And we have the most enormous clear night sky, jam packed with stars. Thanks for the help again, Mr Gonzales. All better again. katharinem (3459)
